My room

Well, after going through baggage and immigration the fastest ever in my life anywhere (seriously!) I caught a taxi and came to Lillian Penson Hall!  A taxi because it's worth the money to be driven to your door, and I was exhausted after being up for about 20 hours or something ridiculous.

So it's interesting...definitely not what I'm used to from any school/city I've ever been to/lived in- Evansville, UTK, DC, Arlington.... and definitely not like home!

I kind of feel like it's the Shining or something creepy like that....or a pay by the hour motel.  But the room is clean and so is the bathroom for all they look....interesting...  :)

Update from 35000 feet! And Frankfurt.

Well this has turned into a pretty decent flight so far!  We're still over North America, about to head out over the ocean , somewhere over some Canadian places I've never heard of...


The plane is wonderful, I love business class!  I got to board early, I got a glass of champagne, and my seat is wonderful!  I could lay almost flat and there is a massage function which felt very nice.


Frankfurt airport: quite a long walk from arriving until gate B- and another longish walk and trip through security to find the business class lounge, which is pretty warm (not in a good way...) and very very crowded.  So I have a few hours to spend here, hopefully I can figure out why my converter/adapter isn't working so I can plug in my laptop...  Next post from London!!

Almost ready to leave...??!!!!

Well today around 5:30 am I decided to check out the United website just for kicks to see if there were any other flights that I could get on with my miles....and there was!  So instead of going down to Atlanta Thursday night and waking up around 3 am to be at the airport by 4 to leave at 5:30 am to go up to Washington DC for a 10 hour layover until my flight to London left at 6pm...... all on United.....I now leave from Atlanta around 6pm straight to Frankfurt with a 4 hour layover- on Lufthansa!  (Still in Business class!!!)  I'm pretty excited...if only I can get all this packing and cleaning done....

Countdown: 3 days to go!

Well today is Tuesday and I leave on Friday!  I leave from Atlanta bright and early at 5:30 am, get into Dulles around 7am, and leave for london around 6:20 pm.  However, since I have been diligant about saving my United miles, I was able to score a business/first class ticket(!!), so I have acces to the United lounge for my 10 hour layover!  


I've still got pretty much all of my packing to do, I've put some things in the suitcase, others are still on the bed, nicely folded and waiting to be packed somewhere....

Still have laundry to do, as I will be at work right up until Thursday afternoon before I head down to Atlanta to stay in a hotel so my mom and I don't have to get up at 1am to drive down Friday morning!

My babies (cats) know something is up and are constantly following me and meowing and climbing on, and in, my suitcases and various bags laying around.

Trying to fit the next year of my life in 2 suitcases- under 70 lbs each...is slightly difficult.
